Modified Nano-Fe2O3-Paraffin Wax for Efficient Photovoltaic/Thermal System in Severe Weather Conditions

The development of modern photovoltaic thermal systems (PV/T) is one the most important steps in application using solar energy to produce both electricity and heat. Studies have shown that a system consisting heat-collecting tank efficient system, which phase change materials (PCMs) are mixed with nanoparticles inside cooled by cooling fluid (preferably nanofluid). PCMs high capacity store form latent Nanoparticles added treat improve low conductivity these materials. In this experimental study, nano-iron oxide III (Fe2O3) was paraffin wax multiple mass fractions evaluate thermophysical changes can be occur on properties. Four samples paraffin–nano-Fe2O3 were prepared 0.5%, 1%, 2% 3%, their properties compared pure (without nano additives). results from study showed adding nano-Fe2O3 at any fraction increases viscosity density product. Thermal improved 10.04%, 57.14%, 76.19%, 78.57% when 2%, respectively. Stability tests excellent stability (especially for 0.5% 1% nano-Fe2O3) acceptable level 3% nano-Fe2O3. PV/T tested outdoors ensure its ability operate harshest weather conditions Baghdad city. current indicated clear evidence success examined nano-PCM.
